Hearing His Voice: A Call to Inner

Biblical Insight:

Luke 10:38-42 tells the story of two sisters, Mary and Martha. While Martha is busy with household chores, Mary sits at Jesus’s feet, absorbed in His words. Martha’s frustration prompts Jesus to gently remind her, “Martha, Martha, you are worried and upset about many things, but few things are neededโ€”or indeed only one. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her” (Luke 10:41-42).

This passage conveys a powerful lesson for all followers of Christ: the call to prioritize spiritual connection with Jesus over daily distractions and activities. In every aspect of life, it is vital to find moments to be with Christ, to listen to His wisdom, and to seek joy in His presence.

Reflection Questions:

  • How often do you find yourself identifying with Martha’s busyness?
  • In what ways can you create opportunities to emulate Mary’s attentiveness to Jesus?
  • What steps can you take to appreciate the spiritual beauty in your daily routine?

Practical Application:

Make time each day to be still and sit with Jesus. This quiet time can be filled with prayer, scripture reading, or simply recognizing God’s beauty around you. Encourage mindfulness and awareness of God in every moment, and find joy in the ordinary.

Today’s Challenge:

Commit to spending 10 minutes each day in quiet reflection, soaking in God’s presence. Use this special time to grow closer to Him, meditate on His teachings, and develop a grateful heart for the daily blessings He provides.

Dear Jesus, guide us as we traverse the complexities of life. Help us find time to pause, reflect on Your creation, and be still in Your presence. May our lives glorify You and lead others to a closer relationship with You. Amen.
